Golden Note

Golden Note sets a trumpet diagonally across the canvas, its brass body rendered in radiant gold, amber and copper against a deep violet-blue background built from loose, overlapping brushstrokes.

The trumpet's bell flares toward the lower right of the canvas, catching the brightest highlights of the piece, while the valves and tubing above are picked out in tighter, more controlled strokes that let their instrument detail read clearly against the looser brass body. Warm gold dominates throughout, but it's never a single flat tone - it shifts through copper, amber and near-white depending on where light would naturally catch curved metal, which is what gives the instrument its sense of weight and shine rather than looking painted-on.
