Kabalikruta is a 36" x 20" acrylic original by artist Pratiksha Bothe. Its reclining figure stretches the full width of the horizontal canvas, one arm raised in offering toward a glowing golden circle at the edge of the frame, the whole body covered, without interruption, in a repeating pattern of small sun faces.
That covering is the painting's real subject. Bothe doesn't paint skin and then decorate it — the figure is built entirely from the sun motif, radiant faces tiling across every curve of the body as though the figure is made of light rather than simply lit by it.
The palette stays almost entirely within a deep, saturated red, broken only by the warm gold of the sun-faces themselves and the glowing circular form the figure reaches toward. That restraint keeps the eye on the pattern and the gesture rather than on color contrast.
