Desert Ember I

A fiery red and orange sky burns across the top of this original acrylic abstract, cooling into a pale, snow dusted peak that sits calm and distant on the horizon. Below, a large pale blue grey cliff or glacier like form sweeps down through the centre of the canvas, its edge outlined in confident black, while the rust coloured foreground is scattered with small, weathered flecks of teal and green, like lichen or mineral deposits on sun baked rock.

The artist builds the fiery sky in loose, blended strokes of red, orange, and deep maroon, letting the colours bleed softly into one another at the horizon line. The rust foreground is worked with a heavily textured, dry brush technique that leaves the canvas weave visible, and the small teal accents are dabbed in with a lighter touch, adding unexpected pops of cool colour within an otherwise warm, earthy composition.

This warm, atmospheric piece suits a living room, study, or bedroom wall in a home built around rust, terracotta, or desert inspired tones, and brings genuine warmth to a north facing or naturally cooler room. It also pairs well with southwestern or Rajasthani inspired decor.

Its dramatic, sunset filled mood makes it a memorable gift for someone who loves travel, desert landscapes, or bold sunset colour palettes, from an anniversary gift to a considered piece for a new home's living room.

The first Desert Ember canvas sets up the warm, sunset filled mood that its companion continues, the small teal accents in its rust foreground offering a quiet, cooling counterpoint to the fire above. At 12 by 12 inches, it holds its own as a single accent piece in a study or hallway, and its bold colour palette makes it a natural centrepiece for a gallery wall built around other warm toned, travel inspired art.

This piece also suits collectors who enjoy pairing abstract landscape work with travel photography or textiles from desert or mountain regions, since its warm, weathered palette echoes those same earthy tones. Hung in a hallway or reading nook, it brings a quiet sense of distance and openness to a smaller room without overwhelming the space. Its bold red and turquoise contrast reads clearly even from across an open plan living or dining area.

Every painting from Sajaao is an original, one-of-a-kind work hand-painted on canvas by the artist, and it arrives with a certificate of authenticity. Free framing in a choice of colours is available on request, and the canvas needs only a soft, dry cloth for occasional dusting to keep its texture looking rich.
