Pure Love is a 12" x 12" acrylic original by artist Swastik Jawalekar, and its title is not a generic label — it describes precisely what the canvas shows. A mother cow and her calf lean toward each other, noses touching, in a gesture of tenderness that needs no further symbolism to read clearly.
Jawalekar paints both animals in soft, luminous white, their forms rendered with gentle shading that keeps the focus on the quiet space between their two noses rather than on any surrounding detail.
Behind them, a dreamlike wash of blue and warm ochre carries the faint, ghostly outline of a peacock, its eye-spotted feathers visible only as a soft shadow-shape, adding atmosphere without pulling focus from the central pair.
The calf's small pendant, hung from a thin cord at its neck, is one of the few crisp details in an otherwise soft, blended piece, a small human touch of adornment on an otherwise natural, tender scene.
Among Jawalekar's cattle paintings, Pure Love is the most stripped-down in composition — two figures, one gesture, minimal background — letting the title's simple claim carry the entire piece.
The compact square format suits a nursery, bedroom, or a small intimate wall, where its gentle subject and soft palette fit a quiet space.
This is a hand-painted acrylic original on canvas, not a reproduction. Pure Love is exactly what it claims to be: a small, quiet study of affection between mother and calf.
Pure Love sits alongside pieces like Buddha in Jawalekar's Guest Artist collection, carrying Jawalekar's blue-toned, meditative treatment of devotional subjects. As a gallery-wrapped acrylic on canvas, it can be hung unframed for a clean, contemporary look, or set into a simple floating frame for a more finished edge. Beyond the spaces already suited to it, Pure Love also works well in a reading nook or quiet corner for a slightly different feel.
Given its subject, it also makes a fitting gift to mark an anniversary, a new home, or the arrival of a family member. Domestic and family subjects like this one tend to reward a second, slower look, since the relationships between figures are often built through posture and proximity rather than expression alone. Natural, indirect light tends to bring out the surface texture best; direct sun for long periods should be avoided so the colour stays true over time.
