Tree Ring Vortex I

Concentric bands of small, mosaic like tiles spiral across this original acrylic abstract, drawing the eye steadily toward a dark, hollow centre in the upper portion of the canvas. Rendered in a rich sweep of rust, amber, burnt orange, and deep umber, the pattern echoes the growth rings of a felled tree trunk magnified many times over, each individual tile catching slightly different warm light as the bands curve and narrow toward the vortex at their centre.

The artist builds this intricate pattern tile by tile, varying each small rectangular mark's colour and value just enough to give the overall composition real depth and movement, while thin dark outlines separate every tile and reinforce the sense of concentric growth rings. The effect is both meditative and slightly disorienting, the eye pulled steadily inward along curving, rhythmic bands of warm colour.

This richly textured piece suits a living room, study, or hallway wall in a home built around warm, earthy tones, its organic, hypnotic pattern bringing real energy to a space without relying on figurative or landscape subject matter.

As a 24 by 30 inch canvas, it pairs naturally with its companion tree ring painting for a wider, more immersive display, and each also holds strong presence individually as a single meditative accent piece.

Its warm, organic palette and mesmerising pattern make it a considered gift for someone who loves nature inspired abstraction, meditation practice, or bold textural art, from a housewarming present to a statement piece for a study or reading room.

This tree ring pattern also tends to read differently depending on viewing distance, appearing as a clear, hypnotic spiral from across a room and resolving into individual painted tiles up close, a quality that rewards both a quick glance and a longer, more considered look. Its warm, earthy palette also makes it a natural fit for a room that wants organic texture without a literal landscape or floral subject.

The warm, earthy tones throughout this piece also make it unusually easy to coordinate with terracotta, rattan, or wood toned furnishings already present in most living rooms and studies.

Every painting from Sajaao is an original, one-of-a-kind work hand-painted on canvas by the artist, and it arrives with a certificate of authenticity. Free framing in a choice of colours is available on request, and the canvas needs only a soft, dry cloth for occasional dusting to keep its texture looking rich.
