LEAVE YOUR WORRIES BEHIND is a 10.5" x 16.5" watercolour original by artist Jaya Javeri, painted within her signature hand-finished frame. A woman in a white and gold-bordered sari walks away from the viewer, deeper into a corridor of carved stone pillars, her back turned and her pace unhurried.
The title is carried entirely by that single choice of viewpoint: showing the figure walking away, into the temple rather than out of it, reads as a deliberate act of leaving something behind at the threshold rather than simply a woman walking through a hallway.
Javeri paints the pillars in warm, earthy reds and browns, their carved surfaces suggested through loose patterning rather than fine detail, letting the architecture recede convincingly without competing with the single figure moving through it.
The woman's white sari is the brightest element in the composition, catching the eye immediately against the darker, warmer stone around her, and keeping her the clear subject even with her face turned fully away.
This use of a receding, faceless figure to carry an emotional title is a different device from Javeri's other temple pieces, which more often show figures front-on or at a distance within a wider scene — here, the intimacy comes from following someone rather than observing them.
The vertical format suits a hallway or quiet corner, a fitting placement for a painting about walking into stillness.
This is a hand-painted watercolour original, not a reproduction. Natural variation in the wash and frame detailing is part of the artist's technique.
Leave Your Worries Behind trusts a single retreating figure to carry its entire title, and the quiet corridor she walks into does the rest.
LEAVE YOUR WORRIES BEHIND sits alongside pieces like HAPPY CHILDHOOD MEMORIES in Javeri's Guest Artist collection, carrying Javeri's consistent hand for architectural line within a loose watercolour wash. Since it's on paper, UV-protective glass and a simple mount are the safest way to frame it and keep the colour from fading. Beyond the spaces already suited to it, LEAVE YOUR WORRIES BEHIND also works well in a home office or study for a slightly different feel.
With its devotional subject, it also works well as a considered housewarming or festival gift for someone who keeps a dedicated space for reflection. Devotional subjects like this one are typically approached as quiet studies rather than literal illustration, leaving room for the viewer's own association with the figure. Natural, indirect light tends to bring out the surface texture best; direct sun for long periods should be avoided so the colour stays true over time.
