Copper Light is a 12" x 12" acrylic original by artist Vinay Mhatre, and it stages a direct meeting between two temperatures: a warm tan-pink field occupying the right half of the canvas, and cooler grey-teal harbor shapes gathered across the left.
Where the two fields meet, Mhatre runs a band of metallic, coppery texture, built up with visible brushwork and a warmer bronze tone that marks the exact seam between the painting's two halves rather than letting them blend gradually.
The cooler left side carries the denser detail — small clustered triangular and rectangular shapes suggesting rooftops or harbor structures, worked in muted grey and pale teal that stays quiet next to the warmer field beside it.
The tan-pink field on the right, by contrast, stays largely open and unbroken, its warmth given room to sit undisturbed rather than competing for attention with the more active passage across from it.
Faint scratched lines run through both halves of the composition, a thin unifying texture that keeps the two very different temperatures from reading as two separate paintings pushed together, tying warm and cool sides back into one continuous surface.
