Musical Couple is a 48" x 36" acrylic original by artist Arvind Kolapkar, and the pairing named in its title is built into the canvas as a literal visual device. White thread is wound several times around more than one figure's wrist and forearm, a recurring detail that binds them together even where their bodies don't touch — the couple isn't just two figures placed near each other, it's two figures visibly connected.
A woman at the center tilts her head back, eyes closed, as a violinist behind her draws his bow close to her, the instrument's line extending almost into her space.
