Symphony is a 36" x 36" acrylic original by artist Arvind Kolapkar, the first of a three-part series, and its title signals something broader than a solo performance — a symphony is many parts playing together. Kolapkar builds that idea into a single, striking detail: a bird perched directly on the flute itself as the central figure plays, resting on the instrument rather than reacting to it from a distance, as though bird and musician are contributing to the same piece of music.
A second figure stands behind her in deep blue, set slightly apart, while a warm golden halo shape glows behind the flute player's head, splitting the canvas between the cool blue of the background figure and the warm gold surrounding the central one — two distinct parts held within one composition, echoing the layered structure a symphony implies.
Clusters of small birds gather at the lower corners of the canvas, painted in the same warm gold and cool blue tones as the two figures, tying the flock visually to both halves of the composition rather than favoring one palette over the other.
