Symphony -III is a 60" x 48" acrylic original by artist Arvind Kolapkar, the final and largest canvas in his three-part Symphony series — its closing movement, and the boldest in scale and contrast. A flute player stands beside two other women, one of whom holds a small bird in her hand, set against a canvas split sharply into two fields: a flat, warm gold ground on one side and a dense, dark blue panel on the other.
That dark blue panel is worked with a fine, repeated pattern of small stylized birds and leaf forms, dense enough to read almost like a woven tapestry or screen rather than open background — a level of surface detail that sets this canvas apart from the more open grounds used in Symphony and Symphony -II, giving the series' final piece its own distinct weight.
Faint leaf and vine patterning is also worked directly onto the figures themselves, visible on close viewing against the gold-toned skin, echoing the denser bird-and-leaf patterning of the blue panel beside them.
Small birds in both gold and blue tones gather near the figures' feet, connecting the two halves of the canvas at the bottom edge even as the flat gold and densely patterned blue remain visually distinct fields above — two movements meeting at a shared base.
This sharp two-tone division, rather than a blended palette, is the defining structural choice of Symphony -III, giving the series' conclusion a bolder, more graphic presence than the warmer, unified ground of the first canvas or the cooler calm of the second.
