Flames of Freedom is a 24" x 30" acrylic original by artist Deven Bhosale. A black horse rears to its full height, front legs raised high above the ground, set against a warm orange and yellow field crossed by a bright, jagged streak of white light, like lightning caught within the heat of the background.
That fully upright rear — the most extreme pose among Bhosale's horse portraits — is what carries the title's sense of freedom, the animal unbound from the ground entirely rather than simply in motion.
Bhosale renders the horse's black coat with cool blue undertones in its shadowed areas, keeping the dark form from reading as flat against the warm, active background surrounding it.
The lightning-like streak of light is the piece's sharpest, most graphic mark, cutting a hard diagonal against the otherwise blended, atmospheric orange field, adding a jolt of energy that matches the horse's extreme pose.
