Gauri's Spiral Crown

Gauri's Spiral Crown — a sacred cow wears a striking spiral-form crown in teal and gold, its curling shape unlike any other headpiece in the Pichwai tradition.

The teal color palette is the standout feature here, replacing the tradition's usual red or gold ground with a cool blue-green that makes the cow's gold jewelry and spiral crown glow with unusual contrast. The crown itself coils outward from her forehead in a tight, repeated spiral, a modern reinterpretation of the arched crowns seen in other pieces.

A slim decorative border in gold and teal frames the composition, its small repeated motifs keeping the piece rooted in Pichwai's patterned language even with its unconventional color choice.

The lotus is one of the most recurring motifs across Indian devotional art, standing for purity and quiet renewal even as it grows from muddy water. Its layered, repeating petals also happen to suit the dense, patterned style this painting is built on, tying decoration and meaning together.

This piece suits a living room, study or any space looking for a cooler-toned devotional accent. Its teal and gold palette pairs beautifully with brass, deep green and warm wood. The canvas texture remains visible beneath the paint, a small detail that photographs rarely capture but that adds real depth in person. Viewed up close, the fine linework and layered color reward a slower look than a quick glance across the room. Even from across a room, the balance of color and pattern here is meant to read clearly rather than blend into the wall behind it.

Every brushstroke here is done by hand by an in-house Sajaao artist, giving this canvas the individuality of a true original — visible texture, layered color and small variations that make it one of a kind. It arrives ready to display with confidence.

It works well as a gift for weddings, housewarmings and festival occasions, offered with free framing, safe shipping and an authenticity certificate.

The painting arrives framed, carefully packaged for safe transit, and accompanied by an authenticity certificate, so there's nothing further to arrange before displaying it. A little care goes a long way: keep it away from prolonged direct sunlight and clean the surface only with a dry, soft cloth.

You can choose from a black, brown, gold, silver or white frame, letting the painting sit comfortably alongside your existing furniture and decor. This choice is made as part of ordering, so the final look is easy to plan for ahead of time.
