Procession Beneath the Palms

Procession Beneath the Palms — a herd of decorated cows moves beneath a row of tall palm Landscape Painting, Rivers, their fronds fanning across the top of this generously sized canvas.

The palm Landscape Painting, Rivers set a distinctive tone here, their long curved leaves repeating in a rhythm that contrasts with the rounder floral motifs typical of Pichwai painting, giving the piece a slightly more open, pastoral feel. The cow beneath them are painted in warm ochre and gold, each carrying its own subtle variation in coloring and markings as they move in loose procession.

A deep golden-brown background ties the composition together, bordered by the tradition's characteristic dense patterning, while the larger 24-inch scale lets both the palms and the herd read clearly from across a room.

Fine, deliberate linework is one of the clearest markers of Pichwai painting, tracing every contour and pattern with a graphic precision that holds up even at a distance. It's a slower, more disciplined technique than it might first appear, built up layer by layer rather than sketched quickly.

This piece makes a strong statement in a living room, dining space or entryway, and pairs naturally with rattan, warm wood and brass accents. Even from across a room, the balance of color and pattern here is meant to read clearly rather than blend into the wall behind it. Its scale and palette have both been chosen to hold their own on a wall without overwhelming the room around them.

This piece is painted from start to finish by an in-house Sajaao artist, an authentic original on canvas with visible brush detail and depth that catches the light in a way only a hand-painted surface can. It ships ready to display with confidence.

It makes a meaningful gift for housewarmings, weddings, poojas and festival occasions, suited to anyone who values a daily reminder of faith and calm in their living space.

Framing is included at no extra cost, and every piece is packed securely for safe delivery along with a certificate of authenticity confirming it as a genuine hand-painted original. For long-term care, keep it out of direct sun and wipe the surface gently with a dry, soft cloth if dust settles over time.

The canvas is available with a choice of black, brown, gold, silver or white frame, so it can be matched easily to existing furniture and wall tones. Choosing a frame color is part of the ordering process, making it simple to picture the finished piece in your own space.
