Lotus Spirit

Lotus Spirit — a decorated sacred cow turns her head in profile against a rich turquoise background, pink lotus blooms rising around her and a pale moon glowing above.

Turquoise is the defining choice here, replacing the tradition's more common red or maroon ground with a cool blue-green that makes the cow's red-and-gold horned headpiece stand out with unusual clarity. Her gold jewelry — a beaded collar, a painted forehead marking — is detailed in the same fine linework found throughout Pichwai painting, while soft pink lotus flowers cluster along one side of the canvas.

A slim decorative border in gold frames the composition, its small repeated motifs keeping the piece anchored in Pichwai's patterned language even against this fresher, cooler color story.

Pichwai painting is a devotional tradition that originated in Nathdwara, Rajasthan, where large painted cloths were painted for temples dedicated to Krishna. This collection reinterprets that visual language — dense patterning, sacred cow, lotus motifs and rich color — for the contemporary home, each canvas painted by an in-house Sajaao artist.

This piece suits a living room, study or any space wanting a calmer, cooler-toned devotional accent. Its turquoise and pink palette pairs naturally with brass, cream and soft natural light. Viewed up close, the fine linework and layered color reward a slower look than a quick glance across the room. Even from across a room, the balance of color and pattern here is meant to read clearly rather than blend into the wall behind it.

Every brushstroke here is done by hand by an in-house Sajaao artist, giving this canvas the individuality of a true original — visible texture, layered color and small variations that make it one of a kind. It arrives ready to display with confidence.

It works well as a gift for weddings, housewarmings and festival occasions, offered with free framing, safe shipping and an authenticity certificate.

Framing is included at no extra cost, and every piece is packed securely for safe delivery along with a certificate of authenticity confirming it as a genuine hand-painted original. For long-term care, keep it out of direct sun and wipe the surface gently with a dry, soft cloth if dust settles over time.

The canvas is available with a choice of black, brown, gold, silver or white frame, so it can be matched easily to existing furniture and wall tones. Choosing a frame color is part of the ordering process, making it simple to picture the finished piece in your own space.
