Lotus Arch Kamadhenu

Lotus Arch Kamadhenu — a sacred cow stands within an arch built entirely from layered lotus petals, the flower motif replacing the plain gold curve seen elsewhere in the tradition.

Where a typical Pichwai arch is defined by clean gold linework, this piece constructs its arch from dozens of small overlapping lotus petals in pink and cream, giving the frame a softer, more organic feel. The cow within remains fully traditional, her gold jewelry and garland detailed with care against the meadow-green ground beyond the arch.

A warm green backdrop — an unusual choice within Pichwai's typically red-dominant palette — gives this piece a fresh, pastoral quality, bordered by the tradition's characteristic decorative edging.

Much of this painting's structure comes from a temple-composition habit: a clear central subject, a decorative frame or border holding it in place, and color used deliberately rather than naturalistically. That formal, almost architectural sense of order is part of what gives Pichwai art its calm, settled feeling on a wall.

This piece suits a living room, garden-facing room or any space wanting a softer, greener devotional accent. It pairs naturally with sage, cream and natural wood tones. Even from across a room, the balance of color and pattern here is meant to read clearly rather than blend into the wall behind it. Its scale and palette have both been chosen to hold their own on a wall without overwhelming the room around them. The canvas texture remains visible beneath the paint, a small detail that photographs rarely capture but that adds real depth in person.

This piece is painted from start to finish by an in-house Sajaao artist, an authentic original on canvas with visible brush detail and depth that catches the light in a way only a hand-painted surface can. It ships ready to display with confidence.

A thoughtful choice for housewarmings, weddings, anniversaries or festival gifting, it suits anyone drawn to devotional art with a handmade, personal touch.

Framing is included at no extra cost, and every piece is packed securely for safe delivery along with a certificate of authenticity confirming it as a genuine hand-painted original. For long-term care, keep it out of direct sun and wipe the surface gently with a dry, soft cloth if dust settles over time.

The canvas is available with a choice of black, brown, gold, silver or white frame, so it can be matched easily to existing furniture and wall tones. Choosing a frame color is part of the ordering process, making it simple to picture the finished piece in your own space.
