Horizon Fracture is a 48x36 acrylic original by artist Siddhesh Rane, a dramatic tonal shift from cool blue sky in the upper left to warm red-orange rock in the lower right, with a dark, almost black formation breaking the horizon.
The blue sky in the upper left is thin and atmospheric, applied in soft, almost weightless strokes that contrast sharply with the dense, built-up red-orange rock below it. A dark, near-black formation breaks the horizon line where sky meets stone, anchoring the composition and giving the color shift somewhere solid to land.
The scale of this canvas gives the blue-to-red transition real room to breathe, avoiding any sense of a forced or abrupt shift. Paired against Stone Reach, this canvas is the more atmospheric of the two large horizontals, built around a sky rather than staying fully grounded in rock.
Horizon Fracture reflects his recurring return to canyon and cliff forms, built from thick, palette-knife layers of color applied in deliberate, directional passes. This piece is one of 19 works in the same series, all built from the same layered, palette-knife approach to color and rock form. Of the whole group, only Golden Shoal shares this piece's commitment to a genuinely cool sky tone rather than staying within warm reds and golds throughout.
