Weathered Face is a 36x36 acrylic original by artist Siddhesh Rane, a large square canvas split between a rough, deeply pitted red rock face on the left and a smooth pink-to-orange gradient on the right.
The rough, deeply pitted texture on the left is built from dense, irregular paint application, almost sculptural in places, while the right half stays smooth and softly blended. That contrast between rough and smooth across a single large canvas is the clearest statement of technique in this entire series.
At 36x36, this is one of the largest pieces in the group, with enough surface area for the rough-to-smooth contrast to fully register. The left side's rough texture catches raking light dramatically, while the smoother right side stays even and calm regardless of the angle it's viewed from.
Weathered Face reflects his consistent interest in rock and stone forms, rendered through layered, textural color rather than any single, identifiable place. This piece is one of 19 works in the same series, all built from the same layered, palette-knife approach to color and rock form. Together with Weathered Face II, it forms the largest matched pair in the series, the two sharing structure across a substantial 36x36 canvas each.
The gallery-wrapped canvas means it can go straight on the wall as-is; a floating frame is worth considering only if you want a more formal, finished edge.
Weathered Face would suit an office or reception area, where its scale and palette can anchor the room without overwhelming it. It also suits gifting to someone setting up a new space, since its abstract palette works as a mood-setting anchor rather than a picture of any one place.
