Ochre Fracture is a 12x36 acrylic original by artist Siddhesh Rane, a tall panel of deep maroon sky over a fractured, golden-yellow rock face with vertical striations, splitting near its base.
The golden-yellow rock face is built from tight vertical striations that fracture and split as they near the base of the panel, suggesting real geological stress. The maroon sky above is comparatively flat, which throws the textured, fractured stone below into sharper focus.
The fracture near the base draws the eye downward, giving this panel a stronger sense of movement than the other verticals in the series. The visible fracture line gives this panel more tension than its companions, reading closer to a moment of geological stress than settled stillness.
Ochre Fracture reflects the same glowing, geological color-field technique that runs through his other work in this series, favoring mood and structure over literal detail. This piece is one of 19 works in the same series, all built from the same layered, palette-knife approach to color and rock form. Its fractured, splitting rock face gives it more visible tension than its companions Amber Descent, Golden Vault, and Layered Ascent.
