Amber Vessel is a 20" x 60" mixed media original by artist Sanjay Sabale, the first panel in his six-part tall abstract series. Warm gold and orange pigment fills the upper two-thirds of the canvas, holding within it a small, upright form resembling a goblet or vessel, distinct enough from the surrounding poured pigment to read as a deliberate embedded element.
That vessel-like form is what gives the piece its title, a solid, contained shape rising through an otherwise fluid, poured field of amber and gold tones.
The canvas shifts sharply toward its base into a dark blue field, scattered with small embedded fragments of green, red, and teal — a clear echo of the collage material found in other panels of this same series, worked here into a cooler, denser register.
That transition from a warm, glowing upper field to a dark, fragment-scattered lower one gives Amber Vessel a two-part structure, the vessel form sitting right at the boundary between its two registers.
As the first of the six tall panels in this series, Amber Vessel introduces both the vertical format and the embedded-fragment technique that several of its companion pieces continue to develop.
The tall vertical format suits a narrow wall, stairwell, or a grouping with its companion panels, where several can be hung together to form a wider composition.
This is a hand-made mixed media original on canvas, not a reproduction. The embedded fragments and natural variation in pigment pooling are part of each piece's individual, hand-built character.
Amber Vessel closes its warm upper field into a darker, fragment-filled base, the small vessel form at their boundary the panel's quiet anchor.
