Emulation is a 24" x 36" acrylic original by artist Sanjay Sabale. A woman stands playing a long, straight wind instrument angled up toward her mouth, while a second, smaller figure below her plays a shorter instrument in the same pose — head tilted back, hands raised the same way — a direct echo of the first figure's gesture, exactly what the title names.
Sabale renders both figures in fine, dense linework, their skin built from tight parallel hatching rather than flat shading, a technique that gives the piece a graphic, almost engraved quality distinct from looser painterly brushwork.
