Flowing Through Rocks is a 14x19 watercolor original by artist Nandkishor Shinde, a small waterfall cascading over reddish-brown boulders in a green forest clearing, with three tiny figures standing on the rocks nearby.
The white water is built up through careful negative painting, leaving the paper untouched where the spray is brightest against the darker rock and pool below. The reddish-brown boulders are rendered with real geological specificity, their layered, angular forms suggesting actual rock structure rather than generic shapes.
The overall composition balances motion and stillness, the rushing water set against otherwise calm, static rock and forest. The small figures standing on the rocks are dwarfed by the scale of the boulders around them, emphasizing the size of the natural setting.
