Reflection of the Past is a 10x14 watercolor original by artist Nandkishor Shinde, a winding stream catching the pink and gold of a fading sky, cutting through green marshland with distant hills and a scattering of village rooftops.
The stream is where the painting's real color work happens, catching the pink and orange of the sky in a series of soft, overlapping reflections. The surrounding marsh grass is built from quick, textured strokes that contrast with the smoother, more blended water below it.
The overall composition leans more toward mood than incident, the stream and sky doing the emotional work rather than any figure or structure. Small houses along the far horizon are barely indicated, kept deliberately minor so the water and sky remain the clear subject.
Reflection of the Past reflects his loose, wet-on-wet watercolor technique, letting pigment bleed and settle rather than controlling every edge. It belongs to a wider group of 20 watercolors from Shinde's Konkan and Pune-region work, several sharing this same loose, atmospheric technique. Its evening color palette links it to Horizon of Hope, both built around soft, fading light over open agricultural land.
As an original watercolor on paper, it should be framed under UV-protective glass with a mount, which keeps the pigment true and protects the paper's edges. At 10x14, it's a comfortable mid-scale piece, easy to place above furniture or within a grouped wall arrangement.
