Wet Tires is a 14x19 watercolor original by artist Nandkishor Shinde, a massive old tree beside a small roadside market, an orange car parked nearby on wet, reflective pavement, with vendors and figures gathered under a striped awning.
The wet pavement is rendered through a series of vertical, streaked reflections beneath the car and market stalls, a technique that immediately reads as recent rain. The old tree's dark, almost black-green canopy provides the compositional anchor, with the lighter market and building activity unfolding beneath it.
The overall mood captures a specific, transient moment right after rainfall, rather than a generic dry-weather market scene. Small figures gathered near the market stalls are rendered economically, enough to suggest activity without competing with the tree and car for attention.
Wet Tires reflects his loose, wet-on-wet watercolor technique, letting pigment bleed and settle rather than controlling every edge. This piece is part of the same release as Shinde's other Konkan, village, and countryside watercolors, drawn from his travels through Maharashtra. Its urban village setting pairs it with Dust on the Path and By the Wada Gate, all three built around a specific vehicle or street detail.
