Muddy Green is a 14x19 watercolor original by artist Nandkishor Shinde, a farmhouse with an orange tiled roof nearly hidden within dense, muted green trees, figures visible near its entrance.
The orange roof is the only warm color note in an otherwise cool, green-dominated palette, making the farmhouse the clear focal point despite its small scale. Dense, layered green washes throughout suggest a particularly overgrown or humid setting, the trees pressing close on all sides.
The overall palette stays cool and enclosed throughout, giving the small farmhouse a genuinely secluded, sheltered feeling. A second, smaller roof visible in the background hints at a larger cluster of buildings only partially revealed through the trees.
Muddy Green reflects his loose, wet-on-wet watercolor technique, letting pigment bleed and settle rather than controlling every edge. It belongs to a wider group of watercolors from Shinde's Konkan and Pune-region work, several sharing this same loose, atmospheric technique.
