Village in Nature is a 10x14 watercolor original by artist Nandkishor Shinde, a quiet stream winding through green fields toward a distant village, with wildflowers along the bank and figures walking in the middle distance.
The stream's surface is built from soft, horizontal strokes of blue-grey, catching faint reflections of the sky and grass along its banks. Small wildflowers along the near bank are picked out in quick dabs of pink and red, a small, specific detail within an otherwise broad, open landscape.
The overall composition favors openness and calm, the stream and fields given far more room than any single building or figure. Distant figures and a few animals near the village are reduced to simple marks, keeping the wider landscape as the clear subject.
